Deezer Fitbit Versa



Connecting your Fitbit Ionic or Versa to the Deezer service is a very easy process and the first step is to create an account with this audio streaming service. The next step is to run the Deezer app from your Fitbit product which will then direct you www.fitbit.com/deezer on a browser and it will prompt you to enter the activation code that is displayed your Ionic or Versa. Open the Fitbit mobile app, tap the Account icon your device image. If your Deezer and Fitbit accounts are not yet connected you’ll need to do that first before continuing Tap Media Deezer. From the Deezer page, select Add Music; A new page will appear with your music library, My Music. You will see Flow, favorite tracks, featured playlists – workout playlists curated by Deezer’s music experts – and then all.

With the Deezer app on Fitbit Ionic, Fitbit Sense, and Fitbit Versa series, you can download your Deezer playlists and Flow directly to your watch. After you download music, connect Bluetooth headphones or speakers to listen to your music.

How do I install the Deezer app?

The Deezer app comes preinstalled on watches in many countries. If the Deezer app is not already installed on your watch, see How do I install and manage apps on my Fitbit device?​ For more information on Deezer’s availability by region, see support.deezer.com.

How do I download Deezer playlists to my Fitbit watch?

Start here the first time you download playlists to your watch. If you previously downloaded playlists, skip to How do I manage the Deezer playlists on my Fitbit watch? for details about how to update your playlists.

  1. If you haven't already done so, make sure your watch can connect to your Wi-Fi network. For more information, see How do I connect my Fitbit watch to Wi-Fi?
  2. On your Fitbit watch, open the Deezer app. If you don’t have the Deezer app, download it from the Fitbit App Gallery.
  3. Using a web browser on your phone, tablet, or computer, open fitbit.com/deezer.
  4. Enter the activation code shown on your watch. If the activation code doesn’t appear when you open the Deezer app, see I'm having trouble activating Deezer—what should I do?
  5. If requested, follow the on-screen instructions to log in to your Fitbit account and choose your device. If you don’t see this step, skip to step 6.
  6. Follow the on-screen instructions to log in to your Deezer account or create a new account.
  7. In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > your profile picture > your device image > Media > Deezer.
  8. Tap Add Music to see your Flow, featured playlists, and any personal playlists you’ve created on Deezer. If you haven’t favorited or created any playlists, visit the Deezer mobile app or website to do so.
  9. Tap playlists to queue them for download.
  10. Plug your watch into the charger. Music downloads automatically when the watch is charging and in range of your Wi-Fi network, or tap the menu icon > Force Sync Now in the Deezer section of the Fitbit app to add the playlists to your watch. Depending on the amount of music being downloaded, this process may take several minutes or more. Check the progress of the download on the watch’s screen or in the Fitbit app (if your phone is within Bluetooth range). You can listen to and download music from Deezer on your phone or computer while waiting for your download to complete.
Wi-Fi won't work on your watch when the battery is 25% or less.

When setting up Deezer, open the Deezer app on your watch to see your activation code. If the activation code doesn’t appear:

  1. Make sure the device you have paired with your watch is nearby with Bluetooth turned on.
  2. If the code still doesn’t appear, press the back button on your watch and then open the Deezer app again.

If you see a code on your watch, but can’t enter it at fitbit.com/deezer, make sure you’re using the code displayed on your watch. Each code is tied to a specific user and device and expires after several minutes. If you’re not able to activate Deezer, contact Customer Support.

If the activation code remains on your watch after entering it at fitbit.com/deezer:

  1. Make sure the device you have paired with your watch is nearby with Bluetooth turned on.
  2. In the Fitbit app, choose the Deezer playlists you want to download, and then place your watch on its charger within range of your Wi-Fi network.
  3. If the activation code doesn’t go away on its own, press the back button on your watch and then open the Deezer app again.

Note that you need a paid Deezer subscription to download playlists to your watch.

How do I listen to Deezer playlists on my Fitbit watch?

To listen to your playlists:

  1. After you download your playlists, connect a Bluetooth audio device, such as Fitbit Flyer headphones or a Bluetooth speaker, to your watch. For more information, see How do I connect Bluetooth audio devices to my Fitbit watch?
  2. Open the Deezer app on your watch and tap the play button next to a playlist to start playing the music in that playlist. You can also tap the name of the playlist to see the list of tracks. You may need to scroll down to see all of your playlists.
  3. In the list of tracks within a playlist, tap Shuffle All or tap an individual track to play it. The equalizer icon indicates which track is currently playing.
  4. While music is playing, play or pause the track or tap the arrow icons to skip to the next track or previous track (returning to a previous track isn’t possible when listening to Flow). Press the + and - icons to control the volume.
  5. To open additional controls, tap the 3 dots icon. Here, you can change the Bluetooth audio output device.
  6. To listen to a different playlist, press the back button and tap a playlist. Note that you may need to reopen the Deezer app to choose a different playlist.
Note: Open the music controls to change tracks or control volume. From any screen, press and hold the back button on your watch and swipe to the Music Controls screen instead of opening the Deezer app.

Playlists update automatically and Flow updates daily when the watch is charging and in range of your Wi-Fi network. To adjust which playlists are stored on your watch:

  1. In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > your profile picture > your device image > Media > Deezer.
  2. To remove a playlist, swipe it to the left and tap Delete. To add a new playlist, tap Add Music and select the playlists to download. Only the content not already downloaded to your watch is shown.
  3. Plug your watch into the charger. Playlists download automatically when the watch is charging and in range of your Wi-Fi network, or tap the menu icon > Force Sync Now in the Deezer section of the Fitbit app to add the playlists to your watch. To force a sync, the device paired to your watch must be nearby with Bluetooth turned on.
Why doesn’t my Flow show up in the Fitbit app?

Because Flow is a personalized soundtrack based on the music you add to your favorites, it can take a day or two before Flow shows up for download in the Fitbit app if this is your first time using Deezer. For more information on Flow, see support.deezer.com.

Why can't I download playlists to my Fitbit watch?

Plug your watch into the charger. Playlists download automatically when the watch is charging and in range of your Wi-Fi network, or tap Force Sync Now in the Deezer section of the Fitbit app to add the playlists to your watch.

I received an out of space error message—what should I do?

Your Deezer playlists update when your watch is charging and in range of your Wi-Fi network. If you added more tracks to a Deezer playlist that’s synced with your watch, your watch may run out of space when it attempts to download the new content. If you receive this error message, remove some of the music downloaded to your watch:

  • If you want to remove personal music on your watch, see How do I listen to music and podcasts on my Fitbit watch?

  • If you want to remove some of the tracks included in your Deezer playlists, manage your playlists through the Deezer app or website.
Can I download new music without plugging my watch in?

To download music without your charger:

  1. In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > your profile picture > your device image > Media > Deezer.
  2. Tap the menu icon > Force Sync Now.

Note that downloading music can be battery-intensive and Wi-Fi won't work on your watch when the battery is 25% or less.

Do I need to have my phone nearby to listen to my playlists?

You can leave your phone at home. After you download your playlists and connect a Bluetooth audio device to your watch, you can listen to your music anywhere directly from your watch.

Why did my Deezer playlists disappear from my Fitbit watch?

If you no longer see your playlists on your watch, it may be because your Deezer subscription expired or due to another problem with your Deezer account. For more information about your account, see support.deezer.com.

Make sure your watch is charged and in range of your Wi-Fi network to verify your account status periodically.

Why are some Deezer tracks not available for playback on my watch?

Although Deezer allows you to upload personal music files to your playlists, these tracks can’t be downloaded to your watch. When you download a playlist that contains personal music files, the unsupported tracks won’t appear on your watch. Occasionally, there are other reasons why a track from the Deezer catalog is unavailable for playback. For more information, see support.deezer.com.

I can’t start my free Deezer trial—what should I do?

If you activate Deezer on Fitbit but aren’t offered a free trial, contact Deezer for more information about your eligibility. You won’t receive the free trial if you received a free trial to Deezer in the past or already have a paid subscription to Deezer.

How do I unlink my Deezer account from my Fitbit watch?

If you want to use a different Deezer account on your watch or no longer want to use the feature, you can unlink your Deezer account. This will remove all Deezer music from your watch.

  1. In the Fitbit app, tap the Today tab > your profile picture > your device image > Media > Deezer.
  2. Tap the menu icon > Unlink Deezer account.
  3. Tap Unlink, and your account, including all previously stored music, will be removed from your watch.
